SIR ROGER CARR
Sir Roger Carr started his career with Honeywell Computers, rising through a number of general management roles as the company expanded in the UK during the late 1970s.

In 1982 he joined Williams Holdings, a small engineering company, which he helped build into a major FTSE 100 industrial conglomerate as Operations Director, Managing Director and finally, Chief Executive Officer from 1994 to 2000.

During this period he was also a Non-Executive Director and subsequently Chairman of Thames Water.

From 1996 to 2003, Sir Roger was a Non-Executive Director of Six Continents, previously known as Bass and subsequently became Chairman of Mitchells & Butlers when Six Continents plc demerged into Mitchells & Butlers plc and InterContinental Hotels plc.

From 2000 to 2010 he was a Non-Executive Director of Cadbury Schweppes and became Deputy Chairman in 2003. In 2008 following the demerger of Dr Pepper Snapple, he became Chairman of Cadbury plc and remained in that role through to the acquisition of the company by Kraft in 2010.

BOARD MANDATES
Sir Roger is Chairman of Centrica, the parent company of British Gas.

He is a Non-Executive Director on the Court of the Bank of England.

Sir Roger is also a Senior Advisor to Kohlberg Kravis and Roberts.

He is President of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).

Sir Roger is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Arts, a Companion of the Institute of Management, a member of the Business for New Europe Advisory Board, a commissioner on the Commission for Ownership and a visiting fellow of the Said Business School, Oxford.

AWARDS
Sir Roger was knighted in the 2011 New Year's Honours List for services to business.
