DR. OSCAR FANJUL
Dr. Oscar Fanjul started his career at the industrial holding I.N.I. and has also worked at the Confederación Española Cajas de Ahorros (savings bank). From 1983 to 1984, he served as Technical Secretary General and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Energy.
Dr. Fanjul was the Chairman Founder and CEO of Repsol, from its creation in 1986 until 1996 and is currently Honorary Chairman of the company. He has previously been Chairman of Hidroeléctrica del Cantábrico, NH Hotels and is currently Vice-Chairman/CEO of Omega Capital.
BOARD MANDATES
Dr. Fanjul is Vice-Chairman of the Lafarge Group and a Non-Executive Director of Marsh & McLennan companies and of Acerinox. He was a Non-Executive Director of the London Stock Exchange until July 2010 and has also been a Non-Executive Director at Unilever and BBVA.
He was until very recently a Non-Executive Director of Areva.
He is a member of the Trilateral Commission and has been Trustee of the International Accounting Standards Committee, and a member of the Competitiveness Advisory Group to the President of the European Commission.
Dr. Fanjul was the last Chairman of the British-Spanish Tertulias and is a Trustee of the Amigos del Museo del Prado Foundation, of the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Empresa (IESE) and of the Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI). |
