Dr. Oscar Fanjul
Dr. Oscar Fanjul started his career at the industrial holding I.N.I. and has also worked at the Confederación Española Cajas de Ahorros (savings bank). From 1983 to 1984, he served as Technical Secretary General and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Energy.

Dr. Fanjul was the Chairman Founder and CEO of Repsol, from its creation in 1986 until
1996 and is currently Honorary Chairman of the company.

He has previously been Chairman of Hidroeléctrica del Cantábrico, NH Hotels and is
currently Vice-Chairman of Omega Capital.

Board Mandates
Dr. Fanjul is a member of the boards of the London Stock Exchange, Marsh & McLennan Companies, Acerinox, the Lafarge Group, and Areva (the French nuclear power generation company). He has been a Non-Executive Director at Unilever and BBVA.

He is an International Advisor to Goldman Sachs and a Trustee of the International Accounting Standards Committee.  He is a member of the Trilateral Commission and has also been a member of the Competitiveness Advisory Group to the President of the Commission.

Dr. Fanjul is also Trustee of the Amigos del Museo del Prado Foundation, Fernández Ordóñez Foundation, Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Empresa (IESE) and of the Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI).
