Lars Westerberg

LARS WESTERBERG
Lars Westerberg started his career with ABB in 1972 and joined ESAB, a global welding company, in 1984. He became President of the North American subsidiary and subsequently Chief Executive Officer from 1991 to 1994.

From 1994 to 1999 Mr. Westerberg was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Gränges AB, a Sweden-based aluminum and plastics company, now part of SAPA.

He joined Autoliv in February 1999 as their President and Chief Executive Officer and in April 2007, when he retired from this role, he became their Chairman.

BOARD MANDATES
Mr. Westerberg is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Husqvarna AB, a Swedish outdoor products manufacturer, and of Autoliv Inc. and until recently was Chairman of Vattenfall, Europe’s fifth largest electricity producer, which was wholly-owned by the Swedish state until 2010.

Since May 2011 he in on the board of Stena AB, a Gothenburg based shipping, real-estate and off-shore company.

He is a Director of SSAB, a Swedish steel company, and of AB Volvo since 2007. Husqvarna AB, SSAB and AB Volvo are listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange.

Since May 2010 he is a Non-Executive Director on the board of Sandvik AB.

Mr. Westerberg has also been on the board of Haldex AB and SAPA AB and has been Chairman of Ahlsell AB and board member of Cewe Instrument AB.
