Jürgen Dormann
Jürgen Dormann joined Hoechst AG in Germany and held various positions until being appointed CFO in 1987. He was named CEO and Chairman of the Management Board in 1994.
In 1999 he merged Hoechst with Rhone-Poulenc to form Aventis, the world’s sixth largest pharmaceutical company, and became CEO of the new entity. Mr. Dormann was elected Chairman of the Group Supervisory Board three years later.
As well as being Chairman of the board of ABB (2001-2007) he also assumed the role of
Chief Executive Officer from 2002 to 2004..
Board Mandates
Mr. Dormann is Chairman of Metall Zug AG, Switzerland, V-Zug AG and of Sulzer AG. He is also a Non-Executive Director of BG-Group, UK.
He has been Chairman of Adecco, a Non-Executive Director of IBM Corp. and Allianz AG and was President of the European Chemical Industry Council.
Mr. Dormann has also been Vice-Chairman of Sanofi-Aventis. |
