Dr. Bertrand Collomb
Dr. Bertrand Collomb is Honorary Chairman of Lafarge, the world-wide leader in building materials, with €17 billion sales in 76 countries. A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole des Mines in Paris, he also holds a French law degree and a PhD in Management from the University of Texas.
He started his career working for the French government and joined Lafarge in 1975. After several positions, including CEO of Lafarge Corporation, the North American arm of the group, he was appointed Chairman and CEO of Lafarge in 1989.
Dr. Collomb founded the Centre for Management Research at the Ecole Polytechnique.
Board Mandates
Dr. Collomb is currently a member of the board of Lafarge, Total, DuPont and Atco Ltd.
His career included Non-Executive Directorships on the boards of Vivendi, Allianz, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Credit Commercial de France,Unilever and Elf Aquitaine.
He is Chairman of Institut Français des Relations Internationales and of Institut des Hautes Etudes pour la Science et la Technolgie.
Dr. Collomb is a member of the governing body of the European Institute of Technology and of the European Corporate Governance Forum. |
